Project management and dissemination
Workpackage 1
Objectives
- To ensure that the project objectives are met on schedule and within budgetary limits.
- To ensure that the project's deliverables meet the high scientific quality standards set.
- To ensure that reports are delivered to the EC on time and with contents as required.
- To work for gender equality and to take care of science and society issues of the project.
- To facilitate adequate dissemination of the project's results.
- To promote exploitation of the project's results.
- To ensure good communication between MSCNET and the European Myeloma Network.
- To facilitate contact and interaction between basic and clinical myeloma research groups,
both within and outside of MSCNET.
- To prepare guidelines and standard procedures for techniques and methods.
Description of work
- Overall scientific, legal, financial, and administrative management of the project.
- Monitoring inter-workpackage alignment.
- Preparation of the progress reports to the EC.
- Function as liaison to the EC on behalf of the consortium in all verbal and written communication.
- Periodic monitoring of the progress towards the projects' objectives and initiation of corrective
measures as and when appropriate
- Dissemination of project's results.
- Function as the consortium's formal contact with the European Myeloma Network (EMN).
- Represent the consortium in contact with external organizations, the press and with the general public.
- Based on our partnership we will establish a workshop on multiparametric flow cytometry and cell sorting
to discuss the technical and methodological problems with focus on guidelines and recommendations for
identification and sorting of the different B subsets, from different samples and different disease stages.
Deliverables
- Periodic EC reports first period (Activity reports, management reports, reports on distribution of EC contribution).
- Periodic EC reports second period.
- Periodic EC reports third period.
- Publication in per-reviewed international scientific journals.
- Presentations at international scientific conferences.
- Presentation of MSCNET project and progress on EMN's web site.
- A panel of antibodies and a flow cytometry strategy identifying the B cell hierarchy.
- A sorting strategy establishing single cell libraries by global RT-PCR.
- A set of Q-PCR test identifying CD genes and oncogenes - to qualify the libraries.
- Standard operating Procedures for different tissue, disease stages and disease type.
Milestones and expected result
- When the Project Management Office and the Workpackage leaders are operational.
- When the report for the first reporting period has been approved.
- When the report for the second reporting period has been approved.
- When the report for the final reporting period has been approved.
- When the project's results have been adequately disseminated.
- When the project's objectives have been realized.
- When a recommendation and a standard operating procedure for flow cytometry identification
and sorting of normal and myeloma B cell subsets has been published.
- When a standard procedure for single cell sorting has been disseminated.
