| Status of the EMN 2008 |
EMN activities are still growing and we are definitely recognized as an important partner within the scientific community. EMN has been supported by international and national research agencies as well as by unrestricted grants from important drug companies.
Following the EMN Workshops on FISH and Flow Cytometry in MM we have now published our first recommendation paper on flow cytometry standards for identification and enumeration of plasma cells
The Clinical Trial Group is still active with the first European trial on Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia with EMN as sponsor. If you want to sign up for the trial, please contact the EMN secretariat.
Our web page www.myeloma-europe.org includes an updated list of activities. This is only possible if each single myeloma interested scientist supports the network by registering as an EMN member and if myeloma involved companies support the organization and its management with unrestricted grants. We are grateful for the support received over the last 12 months from IMF Europe, Pharmion, Novartis and Celgene .
The mission of the European Myeloma network (EMN) is to enhance the understanding of multiple myeloma and related disorders by promoting research, clinical care, education and training in Europe – join the network!
Sincerely
Pieter Sonneveld MD DMSc Professor EMN Chairman Erasmus MC 3000 CA Rotterdam The Netherlands
Hans E Johnsen MD DMSc Professor EMN Secretary Aalborg Hospital, Aarhus University 9000 Aalborg Denmark
